I hear managers talk about giving responsibility without really including freedom.
True leaders understand they must give a voice AND a choice in how people live and learn to lead.
Without both, it’s not really freedom nor responsibility… just compliance.
It’s easy to step up and own the results of good choices.
It takes strength of character to step up and own the bad choices too, make things right, and act more wisely in the future. That’s part of learning.
Bad things happen, but they don’t have to repeat.
Grasping at freedom without responsibility is choosing to never fully grow up and enjoy the true proud pleasures of living a productive adult life. It’s a choice we make every day for ourselves.
